Critical Role Campaign 4 Reveals the Warriors Party

Since the launch of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a colorful mix of heroes, and a gripping narrative featuring celestial beings, fiends, and sinister influences expanding in influence within the urban setting.

Warning: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 lie ahead.

The Warrior Group Revealed

Episode 3 finished on a major cliffhanger and introduced the first table of adventurers who will separate from the main group to embark on their separate journey, distinct from the additional parties.

This warrior group consists of Teor Pridesire (played by Travis Willingham), the agile character (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).

The Reason for Division

Considering an extensive roster, it was evident from the start that keeping everyone at the same party would be unworkable.

Hence, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Prelude, connecting the characters’ stories before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Planners, and Questers.

Characteristics of the Soldiers Table

Per the DM, the Soldiers table is for players who are drawn to a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where diplomatic options are rare.

Initially, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander might look unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment demonstrate why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the warrior group.

Motivations for Departure

For one thing, the party has a clear idea where to proceed after a violent opening clash with the enemy group.

An old friend of Thjazi—whose passing started the campaign’s events—exploited the foes for his selfish purposes, invading the hidden lair, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the enchanted items to auction.

The traitor then paid off his liabilities and escaped to a fortified location in the northern region, north of the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.

Personal Motivations

Moreover, each character has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:

  • The rogue, as the companion and best friend, desires vengeance.
  • The knowledgeable figure is familiar with Timmony and warns that it is a dangerous location.
  • The warrior and Wicander, having defied his house’s orders to execute the target and instead saved him, have no other options.
  • However, their status as prominent individuals in the powerful family could enable the group access locations they usually can’t.
  • Furthermore, The grateful character vowed a eternal obligation to The savior for his deliverance and will now go with him anywhere.

Fugitives

In addition, all of them are hunted by the powers that control the city for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:

  • The rogue and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
  • The warrior and The healer betrayed House Halovar and the army of fiends they are allied with.
  • Teor is marked for death by the clan.

This means them few options but to journey toward the northern region in quest for the antagonist.

Upcoming Developments

Based on the recent installment’s follow-up content, we discover that the combat party will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the participants to assemble the Explorers and Schemers groups.

Fans can expect learning which players will be where in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on next week.
